Women at that time were accused of being witches because they were socially troublesome, were to powerful in society. Joan D'arc might of accused due to her being powerful in the French army. Also, when she claimed that she communicated with saints, that was an act of disobedience to the church. She was also accused of Hersey and Witchcraft. Hersey is speaking against the church, words that relate to Heresy is apostasy and blasphemy.
The question at the trail was:
"Do you know if you are in the grace of God."
Her answer was:
If I am not in the grace of God, may God put me there. If I am in the grace of God; Keep me there. I would be the saddest in the world if I were not in the grace of God. But if I were in the state of sin, do you think the voices would come to me?"
